July 17, 2018 --- the Global Health Drug Discovery Institute(GHDDI), jointly launched by Tsinghua University, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Beijing Municipal Government, made its first official appearance after the completion of the new site.

Since its establishment two years ago, GHDDI has created a new institutional development model and achieved major breakthroughs in many policies, systems and mechanisms. At the same time, it has steadily promoted the construction of management systems with reference to the operation and management model of the world's top drug research and development institutions. It has laid a solid foundation for the future establishment of a sustainable research institution that based on China and influencing the world.

With the completion of the new site, GHDDI will open a new chapter of development, continuously improve the research and development platform, strengthen the scientific research capability, optimize the management system, and strive to become a world-class platform for new drug research and translation. At the same time, Tsinghua University is willing to continue to work with the Gates Foundation, the Beijing Municipal Government and global partners to contribute to the future development of GHDDI, further deepen cooperation, accelerate the development of the fields in innovative research and pharmaceutical translation, advance the quality and speed of innovative drug R&D, thereby improving the global health and making a positive contribution to human being.
